FAQs

The things tradies ask us first.

Straight answers to what tradies want to know before they'd wear Wingman on a job.

Is it legal to record conversations with customers?

Recording rules differ between states. Wingman is built to be used openly: worn where customers can see it and switched on with their knowledge. We'll show trial participants how to let customers know. If you're unsure about your own situation, get advice.

How do customers know it's recording?

You tell them before you start, and the device itself shows when it's recording. Hands-free, not covert.

Does Wingman send anything to my customers?

No. Wingman prepares drafts. You check and edit every price, quote and material, and you decide what gets sent.

Where does my job information go?

Into your own Wingman account, organised by job, where you can check and correct it. Our full privacy and data terms come with the trial.

What do I need to use it?

The Wingman wearable, the Wingman app on your phone, and a laptop or computer for reviewing and pricing quotes.

Do I need Xero?

Xero is the first system Wingman connects to: approved quotes land there as drafts. Use something else? Tell us when you sign up. It helps us decide what to connect next.

What does it cost?

Pricing isn't set yet. We'll be upfront about any costs before you start the trial.

Which trades is it for?

We're starting with plumbing and carpentry. Wingman is being built for any trade that quotes on site.

Who's building Wingman?

A small Australian team, working alongside tradies who are testing it on real jobs. Rather talk to us first? Ask for a call when you join the trial list.
